Hakone - sign above main street. Hilly hot springs town - resort since 9th century. Area extends across huge collapsed volcano.

On early morning walk

Few yards so container gardens everywhere

Example of landscaping

Container gardening fascinated me - so colorful

Beautiful view of Fiji was hidden in clouds except for few seconds.

Japanese Inn on Lake Ashi

Boston isn't the only place with swan boats - Hakone, Japan

View from Hakone Hotel window

Open Air Museum in another Hakone. Eggs important food

Looks like Daumier drawing

17 moving lines - name of piece and they revolve continually

Many pieces of sculpture - all sizes, materials, shapes from all over the world.

Men are grey figures and women are orange - Judy has whole piece

Big Mama - name of piece by American woman. Seperate piece is flat out man on right - we say husband tired of shopping.

Inside stained glass tower

Spiral staircase inside stained glass tower but hot springs footbath was next so we hurried on

Another view inside stained glass tower

Gift of Picasso's daughter - large collection of his pottery work - mostly plates.
